• SJS survivors should be reassured that there is no evidence of an association between the COVID-19 vaccines and SJS/TEN. COVID-19 natural infection has been associated with erythema multiforme, which is an SJS/TEN-like illness. Delayed rashes that have been related to COVID-19 vaccines when occurring on the first dose of an mRNA vaccine have uncommonly occurred on the second. This suggests that this is the body’s immune response to the active components of the vaccine rather than an allergic response. • Currently, there is no reason to exclude anyone who has had SJS in the past from a COVID-19 vaccine.
